A night at home and lots of cuddles from the girls and we were ready for day 4. We were joined by our great friends Paul and Sarah for the day so there was lots of breathless conversations!
Sarah and Clare (aka Tonka) set the pace for the day and once again we were bathed in sunshine.
A lot of this section of the Way is not very "Downsy" as it is blocked by high hedges or forest on either side, however, when it opens up...wow!
As ever with us Wallaces, food is an important part of our day, so picking the lunch spot was vital. We did pretty well...
with rather nice views to Littlehampton on the left and Butlins in Bognor on the right!
The walk down into Amberley is beautiful and The Bridge Inn was a very welcome sight, bathed in sunshine. On the way down Paul asked "Sarah, you have got the car keys, haven't you...?" "Er, no, you had them in the back of Dad's car with Lana..." Change the subject quickly until in the pub car park. A thorough search of back packs revealed... no keys!!! Phone signal restored in the village and a message comes through from Sarah's Dad (who had dropped them in Cocking that morning) "I have found a set of keys in the back of the car, do I need to come and rescue you...?"
I thought Sarah was VERY restrained but I do wonder how many years it will take Paul to live it down! A funny end to another marvellous day!
